FLUX 3 AI is a multimodal foundation model announced by Black Forest Labs in late July 2026. Where earlier FLUX releases focused on image generation, FLUX 3 is positioned as a single model that handles text, image and video, and generates video with its audio track in one pass rather than adding sound afterwards. The headline capability is a 20-second clip from a single prompt, which is roughly double the shot length most generally available video models produce today.

Not freely. Black Forest Labs shipped the Video and Action capabilities as a gated preview, so access is granted case by case rather than through an open API or a public playground. Image generation reached users first. If you searched for 'try FLUX 3 online' and landed on a waitlist, that is expected behaviour at this stage — and it is why most teams with a deadline are generating on Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 or Sora 2 instead.

On paper FLUX 3 offers longer single generations, around 20 seconds against roughly 8 seconds for a Veo 3.1 shot. Both generate native synchronised audio, which is the feature that separated Veo 3 from the previous generation. The practical difference is availability: Veo 3.1 is generally available and you can render with it on VO3 in under a minute, while FLUX 3 video remains gated. For dialogue-heavy scenes and lip-synced spokesperson clips, Veo 3.1 is still the most reliable option we run.

Black Forest Labs published an early preference win rate of roughly 60% against Kling v3 Pro, but that figure comes from the vendor's own limited testing rather than an independent benchmark, and a 60% preference rate is a modest edge rather than a generational jump. Kling remains extremely strong on physical motion, camera movement and human body dynamics. Until FLUX 3 opens up for broad testing, the honest answer is that nobody outside the gated preview has enough evidence to call it.

VO3 supports FLUX for image generation, but not FLUX 3 video — that capability is not generally available from Black Forest Labs yet, so no third-party platform can legitimately offer it. For stylised or narrative content, Sora 2 handles scene consistency well. All of them are watermark-free on paid plans and export in 1080p, so you can put the output straight into a paid campaign.

Partly. A 20-second window removes one or two joins from a typical 30-second ad, which saves real editing time. But most commercial edits still want cuts, angle changes and pacing variety, so multi-shot workflows are not going away.
